Meet our Pastor
Matthew Masko

Sunday, August 14th was the first Sunday service for Matthew Masko, our new pastor for the Parish.

Pastor Matt is serving his first parish, after graduating from Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. Before attending seminary, he was a professional musician, and served in churches in the Milwaukee and Wisconsin area, and also Iowa City and Des Moines, Iowa. He is a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines.

Meganne's position at UND, Assistant Professor of Music Therapy is what brought them to this area. Matt was originally assigned to the synod in New York state, but when Meganne was offered he UND position, he requested the transfer to the Eastern North Dakota Synod or Northwest Minnesota within driving distance to her work in Grand Forks.

The folks in the Fordville Parish are thankful he accepted the call from this parish. The Masko family moved into the parsonage here in mid-July, and after getting somewhat settled, they left again because Matt and Meganne had a prior assignment to Guyana, South America for 12 days. They were part of a contingent that taught Lutheran deacons from that country some of the studies required for their ordination as clergy over there.

The trip to Guyana was eventful. But now, having things back to normal, the Masko's look forward to their work here.

Pastor Matthew Masko can be reached at the church 229-3266 or at the parsonage 229-3274.
